Our Story
Cantabile comes from the Italian musical term meaning “in a singing style.” In classical music, it describes playing that is lyrical, expressive, and full of life. That spirit of warmth and musical storytelling is reflected in what we love to play!
A native of Santa Monica, Xochitl Claire Derycz is a French-American harpist based in Los Angeles. She earned her Master’s in Harp Performance from the Conservatorio di Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and holds a degree in Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Change from USC. Founder of Harp Center Los Angeles, she is passionate about making the harp more accessible while performing and teaching across Southern California.
Sophia & Xochitl
Sophia Oleniacz is a Los Angeles-born music educator with over a decade of experience inspiring creativity and expression through sound. Now expanding her expertise into audio engineering and music technology, she blends her teaching background with a deep love for performance. A harpist at heart, Sophia brings music to the community through projects like Angelita Vinyl, a vinyl listening club that celebrates storytelling and shared musical experiences.
